Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup optional, for sweetness

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 3 inches in diameter.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from skillet and serve warm.

Notes

These patties can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month.
Consider using turkey or chicken as an alternative to ground pork for a leaner option.
